| Re: Unusual catches on a fly? My first carp came on a fly. Not so unusual, but what was odd was the fly, a bright pink fluro dognobbler. A natural pattern would not be odd. __________________ Ignore the margins at your peril |

| Salmon fishing early season, I hooked what I thought was a good springer. It started off in the downstream current at a fair rate of knots. It wasn`t long before I was down to the backing line, so I tightened the drag. Then "snap" the rod broke at the top/mid section and the tip went zipping off along the line. By now the "fish" had stopped at some shallow water. Reeling like mad, I eventually got to the shallows, only to find I had hooked a submerged log. It was an expensive days fishing, for me. I`ve also hooked a few bats lots of trees, a sheep and a duckling .Peter ![]() |
