A couple more schoolies Went out again last night another mild night highwater about 1.50am. Arrived water side about 1.30am set my 6w 1oft fly rod with a floater and leader of about 9ft leader fishing 2 flys about 2ft between them. Nothing happend for the first half hour ,then i had a small tug, rod started pulling round bass on felt quite heavy but lost him. The next cast caught this small one ![]() Started fishing again when something hit my flyrod as i was casting and landed with afud in the muck just missing my head. Put the head lamp on found this ![]() It was chucked over the bridge from a moving car thinking of wearing crash helmats next time.Fished on for another hour catching a couple more small bass all coming to the point fly. ![]() Flyman

Re: A couple more schoolies Nice fish Jeff, what`s the biggest bass you`ve had on a fly? Fortunately a lucky escape with the bottle, makes you wonder "what if " doesn`t it? Peter ![]()

Re: A couple more schoolies Well done, shame about the total moran, good job it didnt connect, hate to think what speed the bottle was travelling at before impact! My Dog had the miss fortune of coming across one broken in the mud.......£120 later, expensive day out, although all healed up he still doesnt look comfortable on it. Make sure he wears hob nailed boots now! ![]()
