Re: salt water flyfishing disasters!

Looks like plenty of light to me,
the river i fish is a lot smaller than that one and full of muck.
I fish by a fly over just of the shadow of the bridge like the one in the picture.
The bass seam to come down in groups right down the tide till there is hardly any saltwater left.
you will get quiet time in between time to have a fag or just take a rest.
The other river is dark no street lights at all.
nobody else fish for bass were i go so got to becarefull of some photos,if only they new whats
can be caught locally instead of going down the Gower.
Mind u the Gower is a great place.

Re: salt water flyfishing disasters!

Thanks Flyman, Cheers Bakerboy....Comments noted and good tips, theres another bridge close by but further up river, the water was very clear tonight and I thought sport was going to be good, unfortunately there was a canoe party tonight and i wonder if this put the mockers on things tonight, however, there is a small outcrop of rocky ground covered in small mussels and looks a good hunting ground for small crabs, but i moved, put off by the canoes and paddles splashing about..as i looked up river, beyond the bridge i could see lots of very small Bass or mullet breaking the surface after something, i put a tiny mepps on and got various tugs, so presume very small Bass.
The depth was only a foot, two or three in places at the most, until the main channel, may be scrapping 4-5 ft at low, it was about to turn and without a rest since 6pm i was weary...so home called.
I wish I could have carried on as it looked so ideal, but with work in the morning, also i,ve been at it for three nights in a row and its taking its toll.

Will dusk and onwards be productive in this River? Fishing the up? will have to find out as no two Rivers are the same I guess, need more fly,s too, to experiment with.
You say Flyman that you preference smaller tides too, have to give that ago, I know something that I really need to invest in, is a line tray, it must make things easier, but am not paying £38.00 for one i saw in the shop today, they are having a laugh, might have to steal the wifes washing basket signing off for now.
