First Attempt

I thought I'd give you a laugh and share a couple of pics of my first attempt at making a saltwater fly.

I have yet to varnish it and paint in the eyes, and most of the blood washed off, and the wife will forgive me eventually for the language in front of the kids when I tried to master the whip finisher tool, but hey, everyone has to start somewhere

Thumbs up Re: First Attempt

Not bad for a first attempt. Forget whip finnisher tools though. It's easier & faster just to use your fingers. Once you have the knack....

Re: First Attempt

Great first attempt Mark,
IT would certainly catch the BASS were i go in early spring.
The bass come in after the elvers thats the colours i use then.
when tying the wings in i tend to use super glue before and after each layer
at the point u tie them in. This helps with the hair not pulling out and building your head of the fly
slighly smaller.
Great photo,s of your flies ,keep them coming.
