more bass

Been out a few times this week wednesday night caught 3 small bass up
to 2lb .Had 2 big bass on for ages my arm was really aching but they
just came off . I was useing a fly tied on trout hooks not enough gape i think
so i got some carp hooks and tied a couple of flies on them for thursday .
Thursday night we fished for about 3 hours caught another 5 small bass
missed quite a few.

Went out again last night tide was around 10m at Cardiff 3.am high water
my mate caught 2, biggest going 4lb. No luck for me but as we were packing up about 4.30 am a otter showed not 4 feet away from us. It was great to see in
this part of s.e.Wales

Thumbs up Re: more bass

Sounds like some top sport Flyman. What pattern of fly do you use? Good to hear otters are becomming more common. I've been fishing for years & have yet to see a wild one other than roadkill.

Re: more bass

Nice one! Can someone refresh me with the rules on bass in regard to size when keeping them for eating, please? 4lb sounds like a keeper to me.

Re: more bass

Hi Greenheart,
Acouple of flies i used last week

Nothing special silver body, wing a couple of different colured hair extensions
from wilkinsons £1.00 a pack.
If you find the bass they will take anything at night.
