fly fishing saltwater in kintyre.

I tried flyishing in the sea for the first time around about 2 years ago and have had some success since especially when the mackerel are in the waters.
The mackerel come in large shoals in the kintyre region which has some great sea fishing.
There is also plenty of sea trout in the water here also.
PLENTY OF PUBS HERE ALSO..
Robert..

Cool Re: fly fishing saltwater in kintyre.

I'm going on holiday to that area in July. Not far from Portavadie so a quick crossing by ferry and i'll be on the Kintyre Penninsula.

What area is good for sea fishing or flyfishing?

Any info greatly appreciated.

Re: fly fishing saltwater in kintyre.

HELLO,if you ae fishing kintyre you should fish the kilbrannan sound, deep water with plenty of pollack and mackerel in the water here.
If you are fishing by boat fish around carradale,if the water is choppy or rough fish in the bay which has plenty of mackerel nd pollackand also sea trout in this area.
If you are fishing of the rocks fish carradale point and port righ where you are guaranteed to catch fish here with very deep water here.
I will give you info on flyfishing and wher to fish in my next post.
I will be on holiday in july in carradale,so who knows i might bump in to you on your fishing travels.

Cool Re: fly fishing saltwater in kintyre.

Many thanks Robert,

Great info, I'd love to catch a sea trout from the shore.

Caught loads of Pollock and Mackie in Tighnabruich last year.

I'm up there from the 8th July for a week.

PM me if you are there at the same time and want to meet up.

Tight Lines.
