West House Lakes 01/10/06

Well, me and dad went one the long two minute car journey to our local trout pond and arrived at around 3:15 and got fishing for about half 3. 5 minutes in and i got a fair whack of something rather large on a cats whisker as i was lifting the line off to cast . there were around 6 other anglers there and all of them got a fair catch, 1 or 2 each . of course we blanked...again! . so then about an hour or two into our trip, the heavens burst wide open! thunder lightning, bucketing rain, the full monty! . so all 8 of us on the lake downed gear so we werent electricuted and legged it into the small fishing hut next to the lakes. the downpour lasted longer than anyone expe3cted, around 20 minutes when we had a nice chat about the expensiveness yet quality of places like witton castle and jubilee. then the rain eased off and we went out again and not much to report on there apart from the lack of fish.

in conclusion, i caught a whopping cold and got soaked lol but hey, casting practice nevertheless! planning on a sea trip next, get some cod in.

(P.S. we will get a digital camera soon so there shud be piccys sometime in the future )
