| Fly fishing in the Wolds Hi everybody I went fishing the other day and discovered a great little water. Its called Thorpe-Le-Vale and its a lovely little trout pool in Lincolnshire. Its only about 4 acres and about 8-10 feet deep but it runs through a chalk seam and the water is absolutly gin clear. I started of with a dark dry fly as a few fish were rising but apart from the odd look nothing happened so I changed to a damsel nymph on a jerky but slow retrieve and the result was a fish straight away! This was soon followed by more fish and I ended up with 10 rainbows up to about 2.5 pound and a lost about a dozen more with them throwing the barbless hook but it was a great day and if anyone's out that way I highly recommend it. Tight lines and seeya soon Bigdave. |
