ol red eyes has a spectacular aura aboutol red eyes has a spectacular aura about
carsington water report 14-4-06

delayed report been busy,

always tough with 3 in a boat and managed to break two rod tips, one in the car door before we started, so not in great mood to begin with!
started off in very windy conditions, could not get decent drift, even with large drogue, hopeless as I expected these browns to be well on the bottom.
Eventually found sheltered bay about 3pm with lots of small buzzer hatching, but fish not interested in the imitations, tried every buzzer patern in the boxes! tied on team of small wets, hooked and lost a fish (hate losing fish without seeing them) about 5.30 on point fly i guessed, size 14 black pennell.we all tied team of small dark wets with some success....fished hard on the bottom with very slow retrieve.Jack landed cracking brownie, perfect in every way, about pound and quarter. then I got one about same stamp and a second on next cast!. Al got the next trout about 2lb, he was well pleased! Weather had calmed right down now with lots of fly hatching. With 45 mins to go,(why they insist on 7.30 finish i dont know! just as fishing improves)we all had tentative pulls with no fish untill I hooked much larger fish at the death, felt like a rainbow, they do stock some.
so nice fishery, friendly relaxed staff and beautiful surroundings, we all had a fish or two, so we will go again, but feel we should have left it a few weeks for first visit with the cold spring we've had

cheers
ORE
