| Re: Flying For Peacock Bass Great post!! Keep up the good work! I've only seen peacock bass on TV, Its a popular trip from here to go to Mexico, central and south america, Venezuela especially, just for Peacock Bass. I've read, they are even stocked in some southern states and wild in Florida. Good luck, tight lines & have fun ![]() __________________ A bad day fishing is better than a good day working! | Re: Flying For Peacock Bass thanks for the great comments. GREAT NEWS GUYS! I went down to the exact same reservoir just the other day. while i was stripping back my line, i was looking around when suddenly my line was pulled by something HUGE. I managed to strike in time before i got burnt on my finger. I let go of the line due to line burn but was fighting the fish after giving my finger a lil' sucking. =D I fought that Peacock for about 5min. When it was coming in, I then realized how big it was!! With the help of my friends, i managed to land it. I measured it and found out that it was 62cm in length!! and roughly about 3.5kg in size!! I will post up the pic A.S.A.P. |

| Re: Flying For Peacock Bass hey eljeffo yes, we do have arowanas in singapore but not in large numbers. Although i haven't caught one yet, a few friends of mine have told me of their experiences with these beauties. They put up a good fight with many acrobatic jumps here and there...very entertaining. Just to add a few more peacocks from my collection: One caught while spinning a fly ![]() One by fly fishing ![]() Another one by fly fishing ![]() While aiming for a Snakehead fish(toman) using big topwater lures, this greedy bugger whacked it. Pretty amazing. Hehe ![]() |
