warning about avington fishery

just a quick warning about avington fishery in hampshire.
Avington is in my experience now, sadly, a big no no. the present owner/manager is a liar and a cheat in our opinion and the lake seems to be badly maintained. We have been lied to and let down twice, something we find totally unacceptable. Me and the many friend that i fish with will certainly not be going there again. With the many great fishing venues we have in britain there is no need to use this mismanaged substandard venue that treat customers like dirt. The owner seems more concerned with running functions in his bar/cafe than looking after his lake and customers.

My friends and I were more than a little annoyed, not for being lied to, but for being lied to twice in two visits and being made to look a little daft in front of other friends we had taken down for the day also no opology for doing so. Try this fishery by all means, just dont expect any refreshments because the owner has decided hire out the cafe for someones birthday, wedding etc after telling you there will be refreshments on site (you can watch someone else drinking and eating but cannot buy any yourself. The fish and site management side of things have taken a back seat.

To be honest I couldn't give a toss about the catering facilities All I'm interested in is the fishing
So are you saying that the fishing is cr@p or what???

Quite obviously your not reading, or understanding what i,m saying. They treat here customers like dirt unless your booking a function. If a business you used lied to you and conned you would you use it again and yes the fishing has gone down hill but dont take my word for it feel free to try it for yourself. I,m only giving my opinion.

Well I have read your post three times now and as I see it your one big complaint is about the catering facilities

Are you reading the whole post. I have already explained about the fishery going downhill ie less fish, smaller fish and overgrown combined with the other stuff. Perhaps you should go and try the fishery for yourself.

It does not sound like he will be doing buisiness too long if he is treating his customer like trash and there are plenty of other places to go to (that may be just as good or better).
Customer relations is a big part of business. Repeat customers are a primary income source for most businesses.

There are literally hundreds of great fisheries to use but you always get a few bad apples.
