Going trout fishing tomorrow for the first time in a few months!

Hell yeah I can't wait...I haven't had the time lately (parents dragged me along with them on a vacation for a week; working a 40 hour job; got new carpet installed for 2 weekends; parents drag me along with them everywhere else they go). ANYWAYS, I finally had a free weekend! (was gonna go last week but my friend bailed out in the monring...he stayed up till 2am the night before

So the friend I'm going with tomorrow loves fishing as much as I do, and he won't bail (he isn't flakey). WOOHOO wish me luck! I'll post pics of my catch provided our POS digi camera will actually do its job for a change

Re: Going trout fishing tomorrow for the first time in a few months!

Finally found the time to come back...we got SKUNKED! My friend caught a 3" rainbow that wasn't worth saving, and I had what seemed to be a fairly big rainbow hooked...as I was reeling him in through some weeds the line snapped. A bit of a disappointment but at least it was fun for a few minutes. Those were our only hits between the 3 of us. The lake was packed (at least one person every 40 feet, along the whole perimeter of the lake. About a dozen guys floating in their inner tubes working lures). That may not seem like much but the lake only has the same square footage as perhaps two American football fields, so it was very crowded.

I think the problem was that we chose to go on a Sunday. I thought the lake would be deserted because everyone would be in church; not so! Once it's time to go back to high school we'll start doing the deal of buzzing up to the lake after class to catch some supper. I was really looking forward to some grilled trout too

Oh well; we left about a half hour before they closed the lake (we found out it closes at 14:00 on Sundays...closing time is usually sundown any other day). We came back down the mountain and did some boonie bashing in my Citroen Mehari...did a little hunting (got a rattlesnake, but I wasn't in the mood to cook him up). Fun day in the end.

So 'till the next time out, I shall hang my rod up in my room.
