| Good if you can do it i think if you have the right stuff, and the right places fly fishing can be very good you can catch trout, carp, perch, pike too name a few and it's s'posed to be great fun to do it.... what do you think?     |

| Re: Good if you can do it oh, didn't notice that lol! trout are s'posed to be quite earthy tasting, but i don't like the look of trout, so i wouldn't be too bothered about catching them, definatly would though if i had a trout fishery nearby, nearest is like over an hours drive away |

| Re: Good if you can do it A lot of wild trout in the rivers here. I bought 3 flies today to give it a go with my spinning rod. Guy in shop is a fly fisherman and gave me a couple of decent marks to try. Mayflys are around now, so something resembling that is needed so I'm told. I have 14lb braid on my reel and he told me to attach about 3' of 3lb fly leader as this keeps the fly afloat as the braid will sink. Cast upstream from where the trout are and let the current bring it back to the fish. Look for shady banks with overhanging trees, try not to spook them. He reckons most of the trout coming out of the river are 3-4lb and are gorging themselves right now. Must be a great time to try it out. I'll keep you posted as to the outcome. __________________ Back to the fizzy pop league for another season |

| Re: Good if you can do it yeah, the trout are supposed to be feeding loads at the moment because of more real flies that are hatching, so they're eating them |
