| Fly Fishing In the Midlands Hey folks I've done a fair bit of sea fishing in my time but now its time to learn the artistic side of angling. I've been keen on learning to Fly Fish for some time having tried it out disastrously a few years back (i take my hat off to the experienced fly fisher; pure skill) and failed miserably. Now with a few grey hairs and plenty more patience ( and sense may i add ) I.ll give it a proper shot. Could anyone who reads this give me ideas of which rod & reel i should look at buying. Also does anyone have any good recommendations for rivers in the Midlands, so Staffs, Derbyshire, Notts etc.. I hope to hear from you soon.. Marcus PS here's a pic of one of my buddies 11 miles off the coast of Penzance April this year (2011); caught a tiddler! ![]() Last edited by MRG2000; 12-01-2011 at 10:57 AM. |

| Re: Fly Fishing In the Midlands Have you had a look on the Wye and Usk Foundation site? I have fished a lot of their water on the Lugg and Arrow for grayling and Trout. They offer a voucher scheme where you buy the vouchers in advance and deposite the required amount in a box on the water, then fish. They've got loads of water. Put a search in on google. (Sorry, I haven't got the skills to put a link up on here!) |
