Re: Hardy st john mk2

hi mate
ive looked into it ,first look

,found one up for sale £ 150 with orig case ,slight scuff on rim, from a dealer , i take it your reel is the 2 screw model, and the reel i did see was the 4 inch version , but also see a few on a bidding site ,we cant talk about starting and ending on £ 75 no bids, also a site from are friends across the pond ,3 reels $ 270 -£500, and a vintage tackle site (uk) with spare spool and mint with orig case( 3 3/4 size) for £ 245 , give me some more info and il try and help you out mate

Re: Hardy st john mk2

also st johns didnt have line guilds ,apart from a few special order models fitted with guilds ,bit like the st george models , and a rare one is 3 3/4 1920 -1939 model stamped js - jimmy smith inside ,also H stamped inside mean hidumnium used in place of duralumin ,also bone handle were also fitted to the early ones (1920s) ,as for cases ,velvet and cardboard were used early ,and wooden boxs then plastic up to the 1950 bit of info for you
