Shall I fish tomorrow???

I have a few hours free int he afternoon. Air temps will be around 42F/5.5C. The water temp where I would go may not be much over 10C, so I expect the trout to be sluggish. Shall I drift some nymohs at 'em and see what happens? It would be my first time out for the year...I'm thinking I'll go, I may stop through after work and check the water temp. If its reasonable, I've got nothing to loose!!!

Re: Shall I fish tomorrow???

Thanks Norfolkboy...I suspect I will go. Even if the fish aren't interested, it will be good to get back into the casting rhythm again!!

I will report back, with pics of the river, if not the fish in it!!!

Re: Shall I fish tomorrow???

I'm going this afternoon...we'll see how it goes. I checked the water temp yeterday and its a bit cold, but one never knows. If I can place a snack right in front of some big ol' rainbow or brookie

Re: Shall I fish tomorrow???

Go for it - Hunterfly.

You never catch a trout with the fly in the box - go give those flies an airing and wetting; good luck.

Re: Shall I fish tomorrow???

Well, I did go and caught not a thing besides cold feet and left the camera at the office so no pics. Still, it was good to be casting after a long winter. I'm going again today or tomorrow so I'll do my best to remember the camera and get some pics but here is a pic off the web of the river at one point

Shame you didn't catch anything Hunter.

Better luck for your next trip, whether it's today or tomorrow

Looks a beautiful place to fish
