That's a nice looking fish Shaun.

Did you think it fought harder than the rainbows and brownies?

Definately fought harder than the normal rainbow, but not as hard as the Brownie I lost at the net.

This fish obviously had Mexican jumping beans for brekky as it leapt out of the water many times before coming to the net.

Can't wait to catch a "Tiger" Trout....it'll probably "maul" me on the bank

Ben, I think there are also some golden trout stocked in some small stillwaters here too - I think they're originally from the US too.

Maybe someone (Ol' Smoothy perhaps) should offer to give us a run-down on these 'non standard' trout sometime. It would be interesting since I'd read about Steelhead (in American books/journals) in the past, thinking that it was a type of salmon. Only recently I found out that it was a sea-running rainbow (like sea trout is a sea running brownie).

Thanks for the info about what triploid means too. Interesting stuff
