Exclamation Help going fly fishing tomorrow!!!

Hi, Im ment to be going fly fishing tomarrow but I have never tryed it. I've only ever done coarse fishing. Can I use my 13ft maver abas float rod to cast flys? As I don't have a fly rod. Can't see point in gettin one intill I've tryed sport, can anyone tell me how I can set up with only coarse gear nd flys??

Technically you could if you used a fly reel and line, although you would have to have some knowledge of fly casting. If you were fishing a river, you could trot the flies downstream under a bubble float. If it`s a stillwater, you could cast out the flies under a bubble float and sit back, wait and hope. These two methods you could use with your coarse gear, as it`s basically float fishing. Best of luck.

Hi Shiningstar, if it's your first time why not just go and watch, maybe the person you are going with will let you experiment with his gear, using a course rod with a fly would be difficult and maybe a little off putting, but if you are determined to go all the best and I hope you catch,

If you are visiting a proper trout fishery you will be expected to use proper fly fishing tackle.You will not be allowed to use coarse tackle!
