| Re: The "Art" of Fly tying - The Czech Nymph Amazing ties Smooth One !! I've seen the 'over/underlocking' woven pattern before, but not the overhand knot. Like many segmented patterns they look incredibly lifelike (when you tie them - mine look a bit p*ssed !). Look forward to seeing what you've got lined up next. Very informative post. BTW, I've fished these sorts of 'bugs' by casting upstream, keeping the line mended and retrieveing/feeding to keep a slack line while then allowing the bug to drift back past me and some way downstream. I use a strike indicator to (hopefully) keep the bug off the bottom. This technique was for coarse fish, with little success, but the weather's not been ideal. So, what's this 'rolling' business and am I 'dead drifting' and therefore ruining the presentation or something ? |

| Oi Oi Smoothie, Any chance of something large & pikey? Oh, & possibly a clouser or deceiver. Regarding the open / knot weave, your pic's are easier to understand than my written description. Nice post. |
