![]() I Visited my club water, Cowpe Res today. It was very windy and bright however the fishing was good. ![]() I arrived around 3 pm as the weather forecast predicted that it was going to be a bit better later in the day. The wind was howling and there was no fish to be seen. I decided the best approach was to try a blob and try to locate the fish. I had two Rainbows quick sticks but then it seemed to go quiet? I tried various different blobs and decided that the fish had moved deeper as it was very bright. I tried a gold headed fritz damsel at about three feet deep and bang, into the fish again. ![]() The wind did ease off around 4 pm so I quickly switched to a floating line, a 15 foot leader with 2 droppers. Each dropper I put a red holographic cruncher on and a shipmans on the point. This had no effect what so ever and it was quite hard to control so I switched back to the Intermediate line and the Damsel. ![]() Back into the fish! as the afternoon went on into dusk fish kept coming to the damsel so it stayed with it. Sorry but my phone does not take very good pictures close up or I would show you the damsel, but it is nothing special just the run of the mill fritz damsel. ![]() In total I had 19 to the net it 5 hours including 3 wild Browns Rainbows and several good fighting Blues. Cowpe Reservoir is in Rossendale Lancashire and day tickets are available for £18 3 fish bag. It is out in the open so be prepared if the weather looks in the slightest bit dogey ![]() |
