Re: poachers Too right it`s not enough Jeff, I`ve ruined 2 pairs of waders to submerged dropper lines stretched across the river. When you`re wading against the current, you don`t feel the hooks until it`s too late and you waders start to fill up through the tear the hooks make. Damned dangerous in deep water. I say

Re: poachers Yeah I could not agree more with the both of you. But lets not forget the people who buy the un tagged fish also, they to must be prosecuted too for their part in this scum bag game of poaching fish.

Re: poachers Vicious circle GAZJB, while the market exists the poachers will continue, one is as guilty as the other. Maybe the police should run a couple of sting operations, then use the cases as deterrents to other would be buyers.

Re: poachers True... we have problems with poachers our club water, the committee claim to know who they are and where they live, but they can't do anything unless they are caught taking fish away from the water. I have been told even if they caught them fishing the water, the best they could do is trespassing..... What can you do with little or no power to stop them. poacher used to be hung little more that 100 years ago!

Re: poachers Hi GAZJB, in Scotland the offence is taken seriously and there are a few hotline numbers to phone. Your club may already contacted the EA, but their hotline number for salmon poaching is 0800 807 060 may be worth a call to them.
