Hill Side Fishery Crawshawbooth.

I Had a few hours at Hill Side Fisheries today.

The weather was actually not bad for it at all.
The fish were rising but would not take any of the dries that I tried so I used Crunchers washing line style, but as the water does not allow Boobies I used a Shipmans Buzzer to keep the Crunchers up in the water.

The fishing began quite slow however, things hotted up and soon came the fish. In the last couple of hours things did slow down and no fish was to be seen so I change to a intermediate line, tied on a black Tadpole and quickly landed a couple more. I ended up with 8 to the net, all about the same size, with 3 lost on the play.

Hill Side fishery is in Rossendale Lancashire. £10 for 5 hrs sport (Bargain in my eyes)

Re: Hill Side Fishery Crawshawbooth.

Yes I agree Chub1 the price is one of the things I like about it and the fact that I live only a few miles away. I am quite lucky that way as I have five fisheries less than 15 miles from where I live. To be honest I have not been to all of them though lol.

Exposed, well yes and no to that m8, the wind usually blows up the valley and because it is sheltered by the hills behind, the water is actually a very pleasant place to be. However, yes, in winter it is possibly one of the last places you would want to be, on a bad day that is.

Re: Hill Side Fishery Crawshawbooth.

I love these small out of the way fisheries, especially with the surrounding scenery. Nice fish and pics. well done.

Yeah I agree, I do like the exclusive lakes and ponds but you can't beat a nice quiet place with friendly fellow anglers. There does not seem to be that sense of competition going on and everyone is happy to give advice and the odd tall tail lol, but that is what makes them days so great.

Cheapest fishing down here,£20 catch and release and another at £20 1 fish then catch and release. It then jumps to around £35/£42 for four fish catch and kill
