line between the leader and fly????

hi all iv just brought my self a starter kit for fly fishing i got a rod reel backing line fly line leader and flys for £50 so if i screw it all up i can walk away laffing if you get me but i dident get any line i understand you use normal line but would my 13.5lb line i use for my hair rigs for carp do the trick ?? cheers

Hi Naf, you would be better getting a spool of fly leader line, than using your rig line. A 50m subsurface x 6lb spool will cost about £2.50. Just starting, I reckon an 8`0" length of leader would do to begin with.
