| Re: Fly Fishing beginner set up please i have a shakespear 6 weight rod and reel combo, its a little stiff but does the trick. got it as a present so don't know how much it was, i took it to to dever springs, my 3rd fly fish outing and outfished all the cardboard cutout fisherman ![]() don't worry about what reel you get,as it's purely there just to keep your line on. |

| Re: Fly Fishing beginner set up please Either a 6 or 7 weight outfit would suit, possibly erring on a 7 weight to start .Take a look on Ebay- Fladen'Vantage' rods, usually plenty on there at around £20/£25,good value 4 section rods.Shakespeare Alpha wide arbour reels, spare spool incuded somewhere around £20.Google Pitsford Pirate Fly Lines, good value lines or take a look at [url]www.impactflies.com. Very good value lines at around £17.Chris at 'Impact' also does value tapered leaders at £1.25 each, not THE best quality but plenty good enough to learn with. |
