Tying Help

I am not sure if I posted I can't find it if I did, but I was contacted by a chap from Chelmsford who has offered to give me some one to one lessons at my place which is soooooo helpful as I can ask him what a lot of the materials I have are for and what they are called, so after Xmas when the weather breaks I hope to have a visit or two from him to get me started I am very keen on the fly tying and know I will enjoy it, I have done a couple of simple Red Tag flies so I am learning a few points, thank you for all the help I have had from the forum and would like to take this opportunity to wish you all on the forum a very happy Christmas and a healthy happy new year and great fishing for 2011 . Re: Tying Help

Chigboro is quite a decent fishery. If you were a novice they have a smaller pool with slightly smaller sized fish and you can take two as against one from the other lakes towards your limit. There is some catch and release as well, depending on time of year.
If it were nearer home i would fish it a lot.Norton's is a fair way off for you i guess. Its Stapleford Tawney.
I take it that you are looking to catch coarse fish rather than trout?!!!!!!.If that is the case, why not look at carp and pike on the fly

Hi Chub1 sorry just seen this reply I tend to get lost on forums. I run a fishery farm pond really and I do go for the freshwater ones as you say, but I may like to try my luck at Chigboro as especialy if you can catch and release as can not see me knocking a fish in the boco. I am used to putting back and do not think I could do this, but catch and release would be fine and nice to try for trout as they do ( I guess,) rise more to flies than fresh water ones, I did catch a carp last season on a fly about 3lb I guess but I do enjoy it, and being as I run the club I do not fish as much as I used to, I am a pole man really, but just to have a bit of fly fishing it easier and needs less gear to take with you. Happy new Year . . . Jack . . .
