Fly tying

Ho to all I am seeking help with fly tying I got a nice lotta materials off ebay and really want to get into this hobby as seems so interesting, I am normaly a course angler of many years but there are some good rudd and Roach on the water I fish and I find it interesting to fly fish for them rather than the usual rod and reel. Now I am sure your all going to recommend I try books and Youtube and also cds and vids but I have a problem I am very hard of hearing, so joining a group for lessons or any of the above is no good as I just can not hear anything off the net or cds or vids.. So I am seeking someone who could maybe offer me a few hours one to one to show me the basics of tying, I have a lot of materials but need to know how to go about starting tying, and one to one is the only possible way I can hear to be taught the basics, so is there anyone out there who could possibly spare a few hours to get me started . Or am I asking too much . . .

Re: Fly tying

Justin, did you have a look at some of Hywel Morgan`s programmes? I put a link up a while ago for his full series. He ties a popular trout fly or lure at the end of each one.

The link is now an old one, but if you type Hywel Morgan or John Bailley in the top right search box you can watch both series.

Hi but as I say these are no good as I cannot hear anything on vids etc, has to be one to one or something subtitled. .

Re: Fly tying

Hi RP, I believe you can buy the series on DVD, which have a subtitle feature included on the disc. Best I can do for you mate.

Peter

Conor, don`t make the same mistake I did and buy a large tying kit, you`ll be left with a lot of material you`ll never use. Pick a half dozen flies you like, then find out the dressing for them and buy only for those flies. You can always add to your kit as you go on.

Dvd with subtitles could be useful can you give me a link as to where to order them from and what do I ask for.
