My own rod revue

Hello Everyone on this wet wednesday afternoon.I would like to revue my fly rods.I have only been fly fishing since the end of july,so my fly experience is limited,but i am a quick learner.
1.Flextec CRX88 10" 5/6line rating.
When i bought this rod,my fly experience was nil,i only had to go on what the retailer had written,but at £40 i couldn't grumble.
One fly fishing lesson later i was confident enough to be let loose on the water.The rod is nice looking,well made,after all the advert said it was developed and used by the irish fly fishing team or words to that effect.This model casts well and presents the fly gently onto its target,no more said,but for any beginner i would highly recommend this rod.The finish is very good and it comes in a protective tube.
PS.Because of its gentle presentation i only use floating line on this model,but everyone is different afterall,arn't they?

Irish Team.............Hmmm I,m trying to think of something Funny, To be Honest Pete when I first started flyfishing I used a Rod called a Lureflash, 6-7 wt and it was a smashing rod, sometimes it doe's happen, that you don't have to spend a small fortune....sometimes. Tight lines

Hi Captain Chaos, As a rule,if it sounds too good to be true,then normally it is.But to me at this level i think it is a good rod.All that said,this week i have treated myself to a 2010 Greys GRXI 10" 6wt,i must say that compared to the flextec,it is much lighter and crisper to use,but then i did pay three times more money for it,still a bargin.

your a very naughty boy!

I have a greys grxi 6-7, fantastic rod, I understand they had problems first of all with some blanks early on, but jesus knows this little rod is certainly good punching a dry out against the wind and also has a delicate side too when dry fly fishing

Hi Captain Chaos,if i am a naughty boy then this is my punishment,a trip to press manor fisheries to try out my rod and new greys platinum line recommended by dubbed squirel.Sometimes being naughty can be good!,beats shopping.
