Advice on tackle

i have a 4/5 rod for the rivers here in northern ireland going for small brown trout at around 1lb to 2lb
i just bought a 4/5 airflo ridge line and have been searching for a reel.

i havnt found many 4/5 reels, would a 5/6 do the job? would there be any disadvantages at all with a 5/6

thanks, andrew.

Re: Advice on tackle

Hi aculbert675.
If you are finding it hard work to get your hands on a 4/5 weight reel, i dont think it would make a massive difference if you was to use a 5/6. you may find that the spool is slightly deeper, if so just add a little more backing so the reel is loaded to the desired amount of line and backing. I would definatley try to find a light weight 5/6 reel though, so as not to unbalace the rod to much.
