how to tie on a dropper

never had to use a dropper, until now, how to tie them on please.

I make up my own tapered leaders using three-turn water knots, the tag ends of each piece can be used to create a dropper. Alternatively you could just use a three-turn water knot to fasten a certain length of leader material to the main leader.
