john10001 is on a distinguished road
Boat/Reservoir/loch rod

I'm reading TF magazine and on page 49 there is a deal on some Scierra gear.

Scierra Ferox Reservoir Rod
Scierra IC3 Reel, 3 spare spools & reel case
Scierra fly line
100m spool of braided fly line backing and 6 braided loops
Stillwater Swingleaf fly box and 100 flies

Meant to be worth £301-99 but selling for £119-99 (plus £7p&p).

The choice of rod is between 9ft6 #7 or #8 or 10ft in either #7 or #8.

Does this seem like a good deal to you or would you consider anything else?

The only thing is that its Glasgow Angling Centre who may not be the most reliable via web and mail order. Unless you go into their store, which I'm going to be up in Scotland in a few days soon anyway with any luck.

I was considering a Vision Attack until now as my boat/reservoir/loch rod but thought this Scierra offer was worth investigating. I had never considered their stuff before for a boat rod I had only considered the 8ft #4 stream rod they do that's incredibly lightweight. I went for Sonik instead of that though.

Thanks,

John
