A floating intermediate flyline???

I fished my local resevoir this morning trying all sorts of depths to find the fish. When i changed my line to a slow intermediate i had trouble to get the line to sink, it was floating better than my floating line, ha! Any ideas what can be done to solve the problem?
Thanks

Sinking lines can be fairly reluctant to sink at first, try degreasing the line with a product called fullers earth. If the line still needs a bit of encouragement to help it sink, lower the tip of the rod just under the water and pull on the line a few times to help it cut through the water.

Slow intermediate lines are designed to sit just under the water surface if you want to get deeper use a slow or medium sinking line.

I had the same problem, you'd probably do better with a sink tip.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as an intermediate line that will sit just under the surface. It's a physical impossiblity as any line that breaks through the surface film will go in sinking at varying rates depending on its SG.

Intermediate lines are in effect slow sinkers.

Pleccy's advise is sound.

Yes Ron is right, I use airflo intermediate, never had any trouble with that not sinking.

Airflo, a good Welsh line. Made in the Brecon Beacons.

I only use Airflo for my sinking lines these days, they are far superior to anything else, and cheaper than the American stuff too.

And the floaters have improved tremendously. I am using an Ultra Supple at the moment which has very low stretch and is a great bite detector.
