| On Saturday 17th May my fishing season started with a trip to Lochview farm near Comrie. My old man had hired a caravan for the weekend and had invited me along for some sport. The place is truly beautiful with deer on the hillside and birds of prey soaring above. We were fishing the bank and after a blank morning we stopped for lunch and this is when this majestic bird fell from the sky and grabbed a decent size rainbow from the middle of the loch.Inspired by the osprey we got back to the fishing and by this time a rise had started.Floating lines and black parachute dries and bang! the action was thick and fast with 10 rainbows (to 2lb)and 2 browns(to 1.5lb) between us all returned. If youre ever in the Perthshire area this loch is worth a visit and even if you dont catch anything the scenery will take your breath away.Top tip-forget the lure box. |
