List of flies. Can any of you fine bunch give me a list of like 10 fave flies that i could purchase. Might seem a bit of a daft question but i had one go at fluff chucking last year and i am going to buy a bulk order of flies but dont know where to start. I am using a 5/6 rod and will fish a few rivers for smallish trout and grayling, with the odd trip to lakes wich hold bigger trout. Just ask if you need any more info. Like i say i am really new to fluff chucking so i will need lots of info. Paul __________________ POWER TO THE PEOPLE.

Re: List of flies. (lakes)- -black,olive and red buzzers (a must in youre fly box)are pretty good on the floating line fished nice and slow.A black blakestone buzzer fished under a floss sight bob is deadly .Hoppers and daddies good when the fish are rising.Hares ears ,p t nymphs and crunchers with or without a goldhead are great flies river and lake .A diawl bach selection and a cull de canard selection a must. Some tiny dries black,(gnat)olive and white for the hard days.Lures -the list is endless and they all have there day.Tight lines!

Re: List of flies. my fave's - river, dry, ( test) march- aprilish - iron blue, black gnat, hawthorne, may- june - fan wing mayfly, partridge hackle mayfly, hackle point mayfly, greywulf, red wulf, royal wulf, june july august- wulfs, daddy long legs, g/h sedge , cinnamon sedge, july august september - as above + sherry spinner, iron blue , bwo, houghton ruby, these patterns cover just about everything, i found it best to either match the hatch or use a big tasty offering if they wern't riseing freely. i don't know if the bwo's have recovered on the middle test but they were in short supply when i left in the late 90's , back in the 80's on a warm august night there would be swarms of them drifting upstream just b4 dusk , then dropping to the water. almost as good to watch as the mayflys that would hatch through the day , chillout in the bushes over night then dance through the following afternoon before falling as spent to cover the water with their exausted bodys haveing spawned, provideing a veritable banquet for the trout and grayling that dwell there within. gently pondering on weather to cut the shallows in a bar or chequer board fashion this month. nostelgia -- its not what it used to be. ![]() __________________ 2008, sessions..17, total blanks..2, species,..14. its easier for a man to destroy the light within himself than to defeat the darkness all around him.
