sea trout or not

When iwas down the river syrhowy taking photos of salmon jumping
i saw this fish in the shallows,
which i think is a sea trout?
what do you think

Difficult to tell mate. The ones that i've seen tend to be very silver in colour, but that one is definately pushing up-stream with a purpose. Spawning maybe? Vagabond is the Forum fish ID expert. Great pic though...

Sea Trout without a doubt.

The number of predominant spots are far higher than you would expect on a Salmon, but most importantly the jaw starts behind the eye.

I was driving near Blackwood today &took a look at the river syrhowy. looks a nice little water. Are day tickets available to fish it?

The Syrhowy is a fine little river,
tickets are avaible from Green,s tackle shop in pontllanfraith £7 A DAY,
a far better river is the ebbw at the same price on the club waters which is ISLYWN ANGLERS .There is afew free stetches
I fished the syrhowy monday for hour managed 7 small bRown ,s and a couple of salmon parr on little gold head nymphs.
THE WEATHER wasnt to good didnt see any fly life .
