Re: Can anyone reccommend a fly fishing reel?

Hi Craig.

If you are on a limited budget, and I am only assuming this because of your age, so I might be totally wrong. Then I would not spend a lot of money on a fly reel. Buy a cheap one and spend your money on a good fly line. You will get far more out of a decent line. You will probably find that you will catch a lot more fish. The reason is that you will be able to cast further and with more accuracy. The line will also behave better on or in the water thus giving better presentation of the fly.

However if money is not such an object then I can highly recommend the Airflo T7. I love it.

i agree somewhat with this but buying a line no matter what line in a couple of years depending on use will need replacing but that greys will still be good in many years time if treated properly and with this make it will keep it value quite well. yes there are better reels out there and i was thinking about price to quality ratio

£45 for a reel with a Greys badge on it and 3 spare spools sounds like a bargain to me.
