Dever Springs

Hi Guys

Got to fish Dever Springs at Barton Stacey on Saturday with three other guys from Essex who were down for the weekend, got there about 11.40 got set up then a quick session on the lake before going in for breakfast.

Weather was dry with a slight breeze, and patchy bursts sunshine, fished with all sorts of flies for about 2-3 hours but not a sniff, had a break for about 20mins with a nice cup of tea then back out again, another half hour with nothing so decided to move up to the smaller of the two lakes, there were lots of fish on the surface but none taking to start with after about 20mins i caught a rainbow just a shade under 5lb

our only fish of the day between four

Outcome: great company, crackin breakfast, dry weather but sadly only 1 fish

Tight lines
Bud

Re: Dever Springs

Sounds a pleasant enough day mate, and can't complain about catching the only fish

Good to see you back posting.

Cool Re: Dever Springs

Dever can be a tricky water Audi but well done on the 5lb'er

No sign of any Monsters then

Did you try dry flies? like a dry hare's ear or buzzer type patterns? Also a Klinkhammer works when its realy difficult.
