Southwest Miramichi River Report - 04/26/07

Spring fishing for wild Atlantic Salmon on the Miramichi River in NB is underway about to ramp up. Very warm and sunny conditions in mid-April have encouraged the River to open up and enthusiastic fishermen are evident! For the most part, the water is flowing freely now with an occasional piece of ice floating by. Buds on the trees are close to opening and yes, it looks and feels like the first weeks of fishing season in New Brunswick. The forecast for the next week is warm and early anglers are already catching spring salmon. The fishing season on the Miramichi River opened on April 15 and will continue until October 15.

Yeah, it's a beautiful river that's for sure, it's "world famous" for it's salmon! But we do need licenses!
