Re: fly line dressing

Hi barkel, can`t advise you on the Mucilin, as I`ve never used it. For my floating lines, I use either Loon line slick, or Scientific Angler line dressing. I pull the line off the reel through a cloth with line slick/dressing dropping the line from left to right (saves tangles when re-spooling line), leaving it for 10 mins. Then I re-spool drawing the line through a clean cloth back onto the reel. For intermediates and sinking lines, I just pull the line off through a damp cloth with washing up liquid on it, then re-spool through a clean cloth back onto the reel. I find this de-greases the line really well.

Re: fly line dressing

Hi Barkel, i am the manufacturer of mucilin and need to clear this question up regarding our products. Mucilin has been made now for the fly anglers for over 40 yrs and in all those years never have we had one complaint regarding our products, this business of complaints in America is nonsense as the rumors that it effected flylines seemed to coinside with them launching their own brand of floating material. We have sold hundreds of thousands of tubs worldwide with ZERO complaints. All our products are 100% natural and cannot effect any lines. The silicone mucilin green is the only product not to be used on SILK flylines only the red solid mucilin is to be used as it does effect the silk with the added silicone. Mucilin is the most effecient aid for floation, and preserves the finish with plastic coated flylines.it can also be used directly on flies which again gives perfect presenation. I hope that this makes you now happy with your choice of buying Mucilin products. Tight lines.

Thanks for the info Mucilin & welcome to the Forum. I've been using Mucilin for over 20 years & have never had a problem with it. I'ts a great product which works well both on lines & dry flys.

Re: fly line dressing

Hi Mucilin, I hope you didn`t think I was knocking your product, sorry if I gave that impression. I did say that I couldn`t advise on your product never having used it, then went on to explain how I clean and service my fly lines. Welcome to the forum and wish you continued success with your products.
