| Re: Hello all! Cheers Flyman, so heres my late report. I didnt get to the river Tyne at Haltwhistle as i had to take my son to a junior coarse match, but not to be dettered! i thought i would nip down to the river Eden for a quick hour or so, but when i got to Rickerby park the willow trees were just about bent double with the wind! so i nipped over to the cricket ground and as its less exposed i decided to give it a go, reduced the hook size as recomended then off i set, after a few casts i had a nible so to speak, then soon after a good bite and a strong take and it was game on! not long after i saw it, a lovely Greyling of around the 1-1/2 lb mark, then a few leaps and splashes and it was adios amigos! bloody thing was off! but it was still great fun, then it was time to go. So, on Sunday i decided to go back and fish the river Caldew just outside of Carlisle, as it was getting brighter i looked to cast under the trees and in the slow dark runs, i got a bit carried away at one stage and while fishing a nice bit through i suddenly felt cold in the groin area! yes, i had gone too deep for the thigh waders, so i thought sod it ive only been here a short while so i carried on, and i was duly rewarded after about 5-6 casts a sharp take and off it went with some line, then stopped, turned, and away it went, i was getting excited and prayed it would not manage to wriggle free like yesterdays Greyling! but after a good 10-15 minutes it was safely in the net! i estimate it similar to last weeks in size and weight, (21/4lb)the chap who is going to cook it is going to weigh it for me, i took some photos of the river and the fish so could someone tell me how to up-load them? cheers for now, peter |

| Hi Peter, enjoyed your post, as for photos, have a look at the first sticky in New members Introduction. It explains how to do it. Look forward to seeing your photos. Peter ![]() Just as a matter of interest, what size of flies did you settle on? P. |
