cortland brook rod reel seat problem help

Hi i have just purchased a lovely cortland brook 7'' 3# 4pc rod.
I am realy pleased with it.However i have a problem trying to get my reels to stay on the reel seat i just can not seccure them so the fall off straight away.
The reel seat has a recess and it has 3 sliding rings . it is not the up locking type which i would have prefeered.
Any advice would be welcome. Crafty flyer
