| Just an update of whats happened since a year ago. Aberdeen beach has been producing lots and lots of flounder, dab and plaice. Biggest flounder - 2lb7oz Biggest plaice - 2lb1oz biggest dab - 10oz Average size is approx - 1lb to 2lb The most i have caught in one go is 15 fish in about 4 hours, 9 of which were above the legal size so i kept them, they tasted so nice when fried in lemon juice. The beach seems to fish better from about early may to late october, with the beach being so unsheltered in the winter it seems the fish go out of reach for me. Lug worm and rag worm fished on a running ledger rig seems to produce more fish than a 2 hook scratcher, the only problem being is i can't see the bites and have a fun time trying to un-hook the fish when they have swalowed the hooks. Also the addition of a wee spinning spoon on the trace slightly above the bait works well, will try and post pictures when i next go out. Cheers for all the information i have got of you guys, it seems to have paid off!!! Charlie |
