Re: Flatties(budleigh To Berry Head)

I think the bay is struggling for most species at the moment. i thought the summer species were on the way, but all of a sudden they have dissapeared. Ive seen the odd one flounder come into the sandeel seine, but apart from that i havent seen or heard anything.

Normally april and may, you can start to see the plaice around hopes nose, but hav etried on the boat, and you guessed it, nothin!!

I had a fishing comp on sunday, all that was caught was one small flounder and the gilthead bream, the flounder was caught down bantham way. stan rowe was present and he said all clubs have been suffering, paignton have only weighed one fish withing the last 2 weeks.

lets just hope for some improvement on all fronts

Re: Flatties(budleigh To Berry Head)

As the weather is looking nice for the weekend (thankfully), we should have eels from about 6 or 7 til about 6, i wont be down there on sunday. I have the last leg of a competition to be fishing, so hopefully i can manage to get the boat out and head off to the budleigh rough ground and catch more dogfish!! and maybe, hopefully, some different species.

Saw a small plaice (about 8 to 10 oz) taken a bit further round in Bigbury Bay
