Re: hampshire hythe, flounder, how unusual?? Seen all white ones but never in all my years seen an all brown one.if you have caught more than one then i would be a. buying a eoromillions ticket or b. contacting fawley refinery and tell them they are mutating all our fish lol. were you at the reclaimed land ? __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting

Re: hampshire hythe, flounder, how unusual?? we used to catch them back in the 70's with black spots on the underside, never saw one comoleatly coloured both sides , back then dad used to say they were oil spots but it just looked like pigmentation to me. __________________ beer so many venues, so little time.

Re: hampshire hythe, flounder, how unusual?? its just a genetic mutation mate ive caught loads from the rivers around kent and essex over the years,it all stems from when they hatch as roundfish fry then sink to the bottom after a few weeks and slowly develope into the flatfish that we know,it always fascinates me how they start life as a roundfish and then end up on the bottom as flattys.
