flounder

I am from the US and i do alot of flounder fishing, and i am always trying ot figure out new techniques to catch them. I fish mainly on the chesapeake bay and off the point down in cape hatteras, and i have caught some at both places. Anyone have any good ideas that might work over here... thanks

Re: flounder

Hello mate ,i was across your way last year.I did a bit of fishing in little creek but caught nothing not even a bight.
I had one flounder out at sea,i think i got it on squid.
Over here our flounders are not so big and tend to prefer muddy estuarys, worm baits tend to be the best allround baits with peeler crab taking the better fish.
Standard rig tends to be a 3 hook flapper(3 seperate hooks on about 16 inch snoods ,one below the lead and two above)
Hope this is some help, good luck and welcome to the forum.

Re: flounder

Thanks alot
I still dont get how your 3 hook flapper rig is set up. If anyone knows somewhere i can learn to make this rig (i tend to make my own rigs) or can explain how i would be grateful. I make my own rigs, since i am a firm believer that by using clear line and no metal like premade rigs, this gives me some type of edge. Ohh yeah and i see u use peeler crab, over here (i believe) that is the best bait overall bait you can get ur hands on for inshore fishing, hands down. Thanks agian
