Re: flounder !

Sounds great Dave!! Flounder on the float and light gear, will have to try that. What sort of floats are you using?

Re: flounder !

yea welly the good ole harbour ;)
everyone underrates my little harbour but you will be surprised on what fishing there is to be had in there.

ive been using a size 4 cox a rawle with a couple of beads above the hook and very small pieces of ragworm as bait. did try crab for a couple of casts but didnt get any bites so went back to the rag worm.
before they built the cill in the inner harbour you used to be able to dig ragworm and they were plentyful so this is obviously the natural bait and this is what i will be sticking with!

on another note a word of warning to you guys if you do decide to fish the harbour try and keep a low profile as the harbour master doesnt like fishing!!!.
and if he see's you he will move you on.
he bumped into me the other day and said providing im not casting out too far (he obviously couldnt see my float!! i was 30 yards out amongst the boats hehe)
and i clean up my mess after me (I.E dont leave newspaper from your worms or empty drinks bottles/cans crisp packets and such lying around on the steps) he will turn a blind eye but dont make a habit of fishing inside the harbour!

so i will be back fishing there tomorrow (shh dont tell MR harbour master!!) during the day if anyone is up for joining me.
all you need is some worms and light float fishing gear no more than a half ounce float is needed at anytime. and i have learnt to fish the pavillion side of the harbour (the harbour master doesnt walk down that side to get his lunch lol)
i hope this essay helps you guys and like i say if anyone fancies joining me tomorrow (tuesday) feel free to pop down its only a small harbour so im sure if u look u will find me
