| Re: Flounder On The Teign Ive never tried float fishing for flounder higher than shaldon bridge, i have caught flounder float fishing on the surface!! using mackerel and sprat in early september. Last year a few people in the boats were float fishing, i thought it to be strange but thats prob because im used to ledgering for them. need to say they didnt catch anything but anything is worth a try. As for worm, i have never used it in the river as i always have the peelers and they work too well to try another bait. I know a few people do use worm but they tend to pick up the smaller fish, i dont know if this is the bait or just them. What i would suggest to you is to visit netherton at low water and find out where the channels are and where the banks are, this will give you an advantage on where to cast. as the tide is on its way out the fish will move into the channels from the banks and vice versa, so i find. __________________ Nothing grows faster than a fish from when it bites until it gets away. |

| Re: Flounder On The Teign well if all else fails mate it maybe worth trying it especially from boat because u are on the water and can control the speed the float drifts much easier... they put up a cracking fight on light gear we have great fun with them in the harbour during the winter i may try it at some point either at netherton or the passage house and see what i can get passage house maybe a good place to try i think the flow is even slower that side? from what i can remember mullet fishing up there __________________ fishing for fish is not as simple as you may think! |
