| preparing flounders Hi I have been fishing since september last year mainly on the tyne i have caught quite a few flounder which i always return due to not knowing how to gut and fillet any of the large ones i catch any help and advice on this would be grateful tight lines Dave ![]() |

| Re: preparing flounders what do you mean cheifs !!! im sure im a chef the best way to fillet a flat fish is to lay on chopping board with the tail pointing towards you, with a sharp filleting knife cut a straight line from just below the head to the tail then turn your knife to a slight angle and run the knife from the top to the botton along the top of the back bone working your way to the outside of the fish ,keep you knife as close to the bone as possible , im sure theres a video on here somewhere showing how to do it ,good luck ![]() __________________ obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated .. species hunt team winner 2005 and 2006..with old smoothy.. |
