| Margins, shallow, margins and when...... In the margins, In the shallows, Up in the water, Over depth. Why, when, how and what does it all mean!!! Firstly I rate myself very poorly when it comes to the greatest sport ever invented by man, many moons ago, although when I go with my mate Matt Rosson I excel at being the greatest, but that’s another story for another day!! All my questions I am due to ask can are relative to float fishing. There is no other greater way for me 1. In the margins, is it safe to say we should only look to fish in the margins if we have some sort of feature to aim at. Will the majority of the bigger fish be our in the middle. Should Margin fishing be tried later in the evening? 2. In the shallows, fishing shallow what does this mean? I read various match reports and often come across this. Does it mean to fish very shallow, 6 inches, to 12inches in deeper water? This was a quote I read He fished caster shallow and corn down the edge. Corn down the edge????? 3. Up in the water, just short of half way. We are always told the importance of plumbing the depth. When do we make the decision to fish half way up in the water and why would we do it. I understand that if we aren’t catching on the bottom move it a few inches if the fish are there but how far do we go? Is this a tactic to use in the margins or is it for deeper water fishing, say at 6 foot. Is up in the water similar to shallow?? 4. Over Depth. I’ve read anglers love to fish 6 inches over depth for tench. Why and when would I want to, if at all fish over depth. The world of angling is a mystery to me!!! The thing I love about this forum is that people don’t think your stupid and are more than willing to help. Thanks in advance Lee |
