Pole Elastic

Does the colour of pole elastic give any indication of it's strength or is it all down to what colour the manufacturer fancies making?
I've inherited a pole with 3 different tops all with different colour elastic and today bought a margin pole with yet another colour.
Help!!

Re: Pole Elastic

Have not done pole fishing for years but when I did the colours did indicate what oz it was.

Might be an idea to get new elastic fitted as if its old it starts to rot

Your local tackle dealer is a great place for this to be done ( smile nice , and buy some goodies at the same time )
