Dinner Plate Bream

I have decided to target Bream this afternoon!
Do any of you have any top tips for a Bream virgin. I must admit to wanting to catch as big a fish, as I can! (dont we all!!)
I dont really have a clue, so any offers are gratefully received!
10mm boilies, sweetcorn, etc.

in my experience the bigger 1s i had in my youth were all caught on free lined worm on a size 10 barbless hook in rivers
dont have a clue if thats the best way of doing it though

Use your carp gear and use carp baits, you'll get 1 then

Nah, seriously. Boilies, sweetcorn, the fake pop-up sweetcorn, casters and worms are great baits too.

If you want a bit of bait down, the new bloodworm pellets and betaine pellets are great attractors, and if you're using groundbait get something sweet like expo and add loads of liquid mollasses. Sweetcorn/worm and caster/worm combo's are great.

Yep, boilies will work fine. I had bream to 8lb the other day on tutti-frutti boilies. (Just thought I'd slip in the fact that I got a bream of 8lb )

if i was going for bream at the moment i would use feeder tactics
but firstly i would ball out about four orange ball size balls of ground baiton to your choosen spot ( remember location is the key ) then fish feeders over top but clip up so you land on the spot every time ,accurrancy is important no point baiting up and fishing 20 yards past it or short is there
now my mix would contain fine and course brown crumb
mollasses (one of the most underated additive )
this you can get from your local pet shop cheap its sold by the gallon (4.99) don,t use the van dan hyne or similar not worth the money in my opinion .
also i would add a tin of sweet corn .
pint of casters
pint of dead/live maggots
chopped worm
hemp as well

just remember that with the mollasses and sweetcorn you are adding juice so add these before you add the water to the right consistently .
also think about how long you are going for so you don,t over do the amount you mix up nomally i add the bit on the bank side so i don,t waste to much .
bait wise you could yuse boilies and its not a bad i dea to take some 10mm with you but .

but also i would take bread ,corn ,caster ,maggots ,worms (lobs and dendrabina,s )
normally i find that fishing baits as coocktail ie : bread and corn
worm and caster ect
so there you go that should give you some idea,s they work for me on lakes .
but remember these are suggestions but most on here will agree they are good and trusted baits .
